Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Resources

Be prepared to respond to the illness or injury of a child or infant in your care with the American Heart Association’s new online Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course.

More than 12,000 children ages 0-to-19 die from accidental injuries each year, and more than 9.2 million are treated in the ER for nonfatal injuries, according to the Centers for Disease control. Those frightening statistics are overwhelming for both child care providers and parents alike who want to keep their children safe and healthy. That’s why the American Heart Association created its new online course. Combined with skills practice and testing, this course teaches skills that could save a life.

The Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online Part 1 Course is designed to meet the training needs of child care providers in almost all U.S states while also being a comprehensive resource for parents, grandparents, teachers, babysitters or anyone responsible for the safety of children. Combining online and hands-on skill components, this one-stop-shop course teaches child care providers and parents critical first aid skills, ranging from how to create a safe environment to preventing injuries in the first place, to lifesaving CPR.
